I was doing some research for a client on how to purchase a promoted ad on Twitter and uncovered that Twitter is about to launch what they’re calling Enhanced profile pages. They’re very similar in design to what Facebook has already implemented with their Timeline for profiles. There is a large banner graphic that spans across the top of the profile page and when added along with the background graphic and html coloring to match, you get a very appealing and brandable Twitter page. It’s going to be interesting to see what some creatives that get first access to these pages come up with. The web is a buzz with Google’s new +1 button and no I don’t mean Google has had a baby so now they’re +1… ok, maybe that wasn’t that funny, but I couldn’t resist. This appears to be Google’s step towards the social avenue we all know is coming soon. As most of us know, Big G likes to test things out and has no shame about doing so; ie Buzz, Wave, Places, etc. I think they’re on the right track with this one, because it has some real tangible use for Google account members. I can see this expanding to categories very similar to what Twitter has, so when you login to your Google account, you’ll be able to see all the +1’s you have listed by category.
You do have to have a Google account to take advantage of the +1, so sign up and get started. Facebook is becoming so Old School, don’t you think. Ok, maybe that’s just me.

Show +1’s
In order to +1 things, you first need a public Google profile. This helps people see who recommended that tasty recipe or great campsite. When you create a profile, it’s visible to anyone and connections with your email address can easily find it.
Your +1’s are stored in a new tab on your Google profile. You can show your +1’s tab to the world, or keep it private and just use it to personally manage the ever-expanding record of things you love around the web.
As Gas prices rise over $4 a gallon here in the Los Angeles California area, I start to notice more and more Prius’s and EV cars on the road. Going to the pump now a days can be pocket book draining, especially for people with families. I could only imagine if on top of my daily work commute I had children I had to shuffle all over town to sporting events, dance recitals and school functions. These people’s gas prices must be through the roof. I have a friend who purchased a Mini just for hauling the kids around town. Now he enjoys driving it so much, he’s made it his regular car, leaving his truck to sit in the driveway until they’re ready to head out on the weekend for a little recreational fun.
Warning: As you all may be aware, Google’s map info isn’t always correct and it sure would be nice to be able to edit a locations data on the fly, but until that happens we’re all the mercy of the mighty G.

Like most people out there I love new updates on software, because for the most part they are usually improvements to an already great product. That being said, every once in a while there’s a company that doesn’t do ANY research or testing to see how people will like a complete version change. That’s what Skype has done with their new update to version 5.0.0.7994. If you’re like me and you hate the new version and want to revert back to the older version, then read on.
Here’s the steps in order you’ll need to take: This is only for Mac users sorry. PC should be as simple as uninstalling the new version and installing the old version downloaded.
2. Close Skype
3. Go to your Finder, then Applications and Delete the existing version by right clicking and “Move to Trash”
4. Open your Finder in the dock, go to User, open Library folder, then open Cache folder and look in there for anything that says Skype and delete it. The string looks like this - user/library/cache.
5. Then do the same as number 4 above for the Preferences folder - user/library/preferences.
6. Make sure the folder for Skype is deleted from the Libraryfolder, but this is usually gone after you delete the program.
7. Empty your trash.
Voila… it should be gone.
Now simply re-install the old version DMG you downloaded and it will ask you to login. This is the steps that have worked for me, so if it didn’t work for you exactly this way, please leave a comment to help other users.
